60 reasons why you shouldn't hire me
Gentle reader,
I am a very adaptive individual. But some habits prove to be so beneficial that you take them with you into every project.
I try to be like a good doctor, to prescribe before I diagnose, therefore:
I need a strategy, or I will make one. I need to know who the customers are, or I will go interview them. And I need to know who the competitors are, or I will need to search for them.
Then I find out the history of the industry we are in. If it's blogging, I go back to Guttenberg. If it's strategy consulting I go back to the Greeks. And if it's glasses I go... funnily enough, back to Guttenberg.
Because I owe it to both my coworkers and my readers to first and foremost: Convey information while not wasting anyone's time.
And secondly: To entertain.
Both of which require a great amount of effort and editing on my part. But, they also make for the only copy worth reading.
I have been writing my own copy for as long as I have been designing. I have taught and led copywriters. And I enjoy good copy even more than I do good design, because there is so... so little of it out there.
