Corvus

Silva

Industry: Artist E-commerce

My role: Art Direction, Concept Development, Illustration, Web Design

Did I make everything you see: Yes.

(apart from the photographs, obviously)

Client Work: Yes

Project Length: Two weeks.

Brief: Create the most minimalistic website possible to sell photographs from this season to an existing fanbase.

Yes, Mr. Da Vinci

When an artist that you genuinely respect and admire asks to work with you, just like with any high-profile client, this can bring a lot of stress. But when they ask for '' a truly minimalistic webshop''... Well one might have to get a bit creative.

Simplicity is...

...the ultimate sophistication (Da Vinci didn't say that BTW). But you know I did my job right when you realize you are not looking at a mockup on the website. You are looking at the website.

But what is it?

An experiment in respecting your audience, I believe. Yes of course, the website is a part of a bigger funnel of ads and social media. But does a website really need copy? Does it need to beg for you to buy something? Does it even need to explain in obvious terms what you would be buying before you even open the shopping cart? Let's loop back to that a few months after launch.

The TL;DR: Corvus Silva is a wall art photography brand and e-commerce store.
